Direct Financial Assistance
Each refugee family resettled with the United States resettlement program receives $1125.00 per person to be used on your and your family’s behalf.
The resettlement money for each family is used to cover payments made by the office staff on behalf of the individual refugees to meet refugees’ material needs in accordance with the requirements of the program. The resettlement money for each family will be used for the costs outlined below. Please note that these costs are not exact but rather an average estimate. Costs will vary depending on a variety of factors such as family size and preferences.
Pocket Money – per IRC Denver policy, each client will receive $100.00 per adult & $50.00 per child as pocket money from their resettlement money.
One-time groceries at arrival
First night meal (if not provided by the US tie)
Cellphone – (1 per family)
Hotel stays/ Temporary housing (no more than 30 days if you have refused IRC housing options) – $75 per room per night
Permanent Housing Deposit – $1000 for a single adult and $1500-3500 for families
First month's rent – $1000-$3500 per household
Housing Supplies – Beds ($250 per person) and other housing supplies ($30-100 per person)
