Matching Grant (MG)
Eligibility: Resettled refugees without medical issues preventing employment.
Working Requirements: Work-eligible clients must be ready, willing, and able to take the first job offer.
Timeframe: Available for up to 180 days after arrival.
Bus Pass: Each adult in the family is eligible for $88 per month for a bus pass
Cash Assistance: After enrollment, you will receive an amount depending on the amount of adults ($200/adults) and children ($40/child). When you begin working, the amount of assistance will be reduced to $100/adults and $20/child.
For example: a family of 6 with 2 parents ($400) + 1 child over 18 ($200) + 3 younger children ($120) = this family would get $720 each month. When the family begins working, the amount would be reduced to $360 each month.
Once you have reached 180 days after your arrival, this cash assistance will end.
