Counseling and Therapy Groups

The Transgender Center of the Rockies offers trauma-informed gender-affirming individual and group counseling for transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive individuals focused on support for mental health and substance use challenges.Clinicians work with clients to develop treatment plans to work toward their goals. 

Payment accepted includes Medicaid, and a sliding scale is offered. Below is the sliding fee scale for individual and group clinical sessions based on the client’s household income. 


Adult Therapy Groups

You must complete an intake to access any of the therapy groups listed. Please call 303.761.0200 x320 to get started.

Each Monday, 11 am–12 pm 

VIRTUAL, Facilitated by Max (he/him). 

The group is for the transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive community, 18 and over. It

focuses on coping strategies to help individuals through adversity and change behavior

patterns that are not helpful, such as self-harm, suicidal ideation, and substance use. Skills

are shared with DBT to build resiliency through distress tolerance and ACT to honor values

and commitments and mindfulness practices, reinforcing the mind-body connection. Call the

Each Thursday, 11 am–12 pm 

VIRTUAL, Co-facilitated by Erin (she/they) and Emily (they/them)

The group is for individuals 18 and older in the wider trans community and explores gender identity, transition, building resilience, and feeling affirmed in one’s gender. Discussion includes the power of language, self-determination, recognizing strengths, and reframing and overcoming barriers through a trauma-informed lens. These skills identify external factors that impact identity, including transphobia, inequality, and discrimination. The group builds community, connections, and self-care practices. Each Thursday, 4:45–6:15 pm 

VIRTUAL, Facilitated by Zyan (they/he/it)

The group is for the 18 and over transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive individuals striving toward recovery from substance use, such as alcohol, nicotine, cannabis, and narcotics. The focus is on providing gender-affirming care and environment while teaching tools and coping skills and creating new beliefs and behaviors. Support Groups

These groups are opportunities to get together with other gender-expansive adults, socialize, form community, and discuss a variety of topics. No payment is required. Please call the office (303) 761-0200 x320 to get started.

Each Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 pm 

VIRTUAL, Facilitated by Lauren (she/they)

A peer-led support group for transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive young adults, ages 18-30, the focus is on spending time together, connecting over shared lived experiences, and community connection. The group includes skill-building, story-telling, and fun games every week.


Each Monday, 4–6 pm 

VIRTUAL, Facilitated by Max (he/him)

This group is a space for trans and gender-diverse youth to talk about coping skills, support, interpersonal effectiveness, and to build community. Call the office and complete an intake to access the group’s Zoom link.
