How to Set or Change Your EBT Card PIN Over the Phone and Online

First Time Issuance of EBT Card with NO PIN Set at EBT Office - Phone

1. Call EBT Customer Service: 1-888-328-2656 (phone number on back of EBT card) or 1-800-659-2656 (TTY)

2. Enter your 16-digit EBT card number

3. The system will say that a PIN has not been set & will ask if you want to set one by pressing Option 1

4. Answer the two questions that the system asks to verify your account

a. If you have an additional Security Code set on your account, you will also need to verify that number

5. Once the automated system verifies your account, it will ask you to enter a 4-digit PIN of your choice

a. For card security reasons, do not use PINs like 1234, 0000, 1111, 2222, etc. CDHS does not replace benefits that are lost or stolen from your EBT card. DO NOT select a PIN that is easy for others to guess.

6. The system will ask you to re-enter your PIN

7. You will receive confirmation that the PIN is set and ready to be used

Changing Your PIN - Phone

1. Call EBT Customer Service: 1-888-328-2656 (phone number on back of EBT card) or 1-800-659-2656 (TTY)

2. Enter your 16-digit EBT card number

3. The system will tell you the status of the card, that the PIN is set, and your card balance.

4. The automated system will say either hang-up if you are finished –OR- if you need to complete other actions, to press Option 2 for the main menu

5. Press Option 2 and listen to the following options:

1. Option 1 – Transaction History

2. Option 2 – Benefits Schedule

3. Option 3 – PIN Change

4. Option 4 - Last Deposit(s)

5. Option 5 - All Other Options

6. Press Option 3 to change your PIN

7. Answer the two questions that the system asks to verify your account.

8. Once the automated system verifies your account, it will ask you to enter a 4-digit PIN of your choice.

a. For card security reasons, do not use PINs like 1234, 0000, 1111, 2222, etc. CDHS does not replace benefits that are lost or stolen from your EBT card. DO NOT select a PIN that is easy for others to guess.

9. The system will ask you to re-enter your PIN.

10. You will receive confirmation that the PIN is set and ready to be used

Choose or Change Your PIN Online through the ebtEDGE Cardholder Portal or ebtEDGE Mobile App

1. For the Cardholder Portal go to www.ebtedge.com and select the “Cardholder Login” link located at the bottom of the webpage. For the mobile app, download the ebtEDGE mobile application

2. Enter your unique username and password. If you do not have one, click the “Register Here” link

3. Once logged in, you will either need to add your EBT card or if you already added your card, select your card

a. Add your card by clicking on the Add Account link

i. Enter your EBT card number and select next

ii. Verify the two data points that the system asks for and select Add Card

1. If you have an additional Security Code set on your account, you will also need to verify that number

4. Click on your card, and then PIN Select

5. Verify the two data points that the system asks for

a. If you have an additional Security Code set on your account, you will also need to verify that number

6. Enter a 4-digit PIN of your choice then re-enter your PIN

a. For card security reasons, do not use PINs like 1234, 0000, 1111, 2222, etc. CDHS does not replace stolen benefits when PIN is used. DO NOT select a PIN that is easy for others to guess

7. Click the “SAVE” button. The website will then say if the PIN has been successfully set

8. Remember to log out once you are done changing your PIN
